Job Description

  • Manage and keep the Company’s EHS training plan up to date and in compliance with regulations
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of OSHA federal and state regulations, keeping abreast of current trends in the industry
  • Develop a culture inclusive of safety best practices throughout the company, with support of Company management and leadership
  • Develop and conduct safety training for all departments of the company, including plant and office personnel
  • Develop and coordinate a thorough training program for Warehouse Drivers, both classroom and hands on education
  • Track and analyse DART (days away, restricted or transferred) rates to identify safety issues and act to implement solutions Serve as the centralized emergency coordinator for the Company, collaborating and communicating with Human Resources, Maintenance and Company leadership Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure regular safety evacuation drills (fire, tornado, emergency) for all facilities and shifts
  • Work with Human Resources to submit OSHA 300 reporting requirements in a timely manner
  • Coordinate ongoing and annual First Aid Training to ensure sufficient responders at all locations and shifts Lead company safety committee, including training representatives on all shifts and addressing issues reported during the weekly safety walks Track and report all injuries, accidents and incidents on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure all OSHA training requirements are completed according to company safety calendar and OSHA regulations
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned and support overall HR initiatives

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Occupational Safety, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a occupational safety position preferred Experience developing and managing EHS program preferred
  • Certifications in First Aid and CPR preferred
  • Strong PC skills including Excel and Word
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a cross functional environment, both written and verbal
